Work In Progress

Been working on this off and on for a little while. Trying to get some semblance of character down for this new project I'm working on. It's a bit more realistic than I think I'll be heading though.

UNIX: A Platform of Destruction

Unix was the OS that I had to learn once I moved out here. It was the most unfriendly looking system I'd ever used. I thought, "This was designed by scientists for scientists." It was ugly beyond belief and hard to use because of it. Up until that point, I was digging technology and wouldn't mind spending hours researching answers to any number of problems on a Mac or PC. But this was a spirit-crusher.

The course of events that followed sequestered me away from modeling and texturing. I slowly made my rocky transition into concept design. Mind you we were making real world racing games at the time and without an art director, I had no visual style or cue to follow. I made due and for whatever reason managed to stick it out for another 2 years.

Unix destroyed my initial love of computers and awoke the truer desire to draw and conceive ideas for a variety of media. Maybe it was in the cards all along, or perhaps I was naive but in the end as long as I kept growing along a desired path I couldn't really complain.

Blue Shift

I did this pinup as a trade with someone.
Thought I'd spend a little more time on it than usual and actually try to savor what I was doing.
I was looking at a lot of Dave Stevens, that's for sure.
